What is Backcountry Offroad Expo?

Backcountry Offroad Expo is a community-driven outdoor and offroad expo series focused on vehicles, gear, education, and connection. The show brings together offroad vehicles, outdoor brands, and the outdoor community for a weekend built around being outside. 

Where and when are the expos?

Backcountry Offroad Expo is a multi-city event series with events held in different locations throughout the year. Dates and locations are listed on each event page.

Is the event open to the public?

Yes. Backcountry Offroad Expo is open to the public.

Do I need tickets?

Yes. Tickets will be available in advance and at the gate, depending on the event. Ticket types and pricing are listed on each event’s page.

Is camping available?

Camping is available at select events with a camping pass. Availability, pricing, and amenities vary by location and will be listed on the individual event pages.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are welcome at most Backcountry Offroad Expo events and must be leashed and under control at all times. Please check the individual event page for any venue-specific guidelines.

What kind of vehicles will be at the expo?

You’ll see all kinds of offroad and outdoor-focused vehicles, including vans, adventure trucks, SUVs like Grenadiers, Jeeps, and 4x4 builds, trailers and pop-up campers, motorcycles and bikes, and plenty of custom setups. If it’s built to get off pavement and spend time outside, it fits.

Is the event open to the public?

Yes. Backcountry Offroad Expo is open to the public.

What's included in the price? 

Your attendee ticket includes:

  • Entry to Backcountry Offroad Expo for the weekend (both days included).
  • Access to all outdoor brands, builders, and exhibitors
  • Educational talks, panels, and community-led sessions
  • Access to the DIY section and Yard Sale: Vehicle Marketplace areas
  • A weekend built around connection, learning, and time spent outside

Food, beverages, camping, and special activities are not included unless noted.

How do I apply to be a vendor?

Vendors can register online through the application link on the individual event page. For additional space, multiple vehicles, or partnership opportunities, please email merrisa@dirtroadsociety.com.

Can vendors camp on-site?

Yes. Vendor camping is available at all Backcountry Offroad Expo events.

Do vendors need insurance?

Yes. All vendors are required to carry insurance and list the venue and Backcountry Offroad Expo as additionally insured. We’ll provide the exact certificate language after acceptance.

Do you offer sponsorship opportunities?

Yes. We offer a range of sponsorship and partnership options, from single-event to multi-event involvement.

Event Details

Will there be food and beverages?

Yes. Food vendors will be on-site. Alcohol availability depends on the venue and local regulations.

Will there be programming or educational sessions?

Yes. Each event includes educational talks, workshops, and community-led sessions. Schedules are posted closer to the event.

Is there live music?

Yes. Live music is part of the weekend at select events.

What happens if weather is bad?

Backcountry Offroad Expo is an outdoor event and runs rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe. Any major updates will be communicated via email and social channels.

Do you have a physical office?

Our entire team lives on the road full-time and works remotely. We don’t operate out of a physical office, but you can always reach us by email, text, or phone.

Camping

Is camping available?

Camping is available at most Backcountry Offroad Expo events. Please check the individual event page for details.

When can campers arrive?

For Saturday–Sunday expos, campers may arrive anytime after 3:00 PM on Friday.

For the Hurricane, Utah expo (Friday–Saturday), campers may arrive anytime after 3:00 PM on Thursday.

Can I move my vehicle during the expo?

For safety reasons, vehicle movement is not allowed during expo hours within the camping and expo areas.

 

Vehicles may be moved:

  • After the expo ends each day, or
  • At any time if your camping area is located outside of the active expo space (please check on rules for each event)

Can I leave and come back once I’m parked?

Absolutely. Just make sure you’re following the rules for the camping area at that event and do not move vehicles through the expo space during expo hours.

How much does camping cost?

Camping pricing varies by event. Please visit the specific event page and check the Camping tab for current pricing and details.

What's included with my camping pass?

A camping pass includes:

  • On-site camping for the duration of the event
  • Access to Backcountry Offroad Expo for the full weekend
  • The ability to stay on-site and move easily between camping and the expo throughout the day
  • Access to informal, attendee-led community gatherings like fireside chats, potlucks, games, and other fun, community-driven moments after expo hours.
  • Access to educational talks and panels that take place during the weekend
  • A more connected, relaxed experience that allows you to spend the weekend with the community rather than commuting in and out
